The Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee has announced the Chef de Mission for the 2014 Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, 23rd July – August 3rd. Mr. Cordell Williams will head the team to the Games. Cordell comes with a wealth of experience as a long serving NOC Executive Member. Williams is also the President of the Antigua and Barbuda Tennis Association and is a certified United States Professional Tennis Registry and ITF level 2 coach. He has served as Davis Cup and Fed Cup Coach. Cordell Williams, in addition, has served as the local NOC Assistant to the 2012 London Olympics Games.

Mr. Cordell Williams will manage a contingent of 20 athletes from five national associations that will be participating in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The five associations are: cycling with 4 athletes, boxing 2, athletics 10, swimming 2, and riffle 2 athletes.

According to the NOC, now is a fantastic opportunity for the communities to get behind local athletes, and show your support for Team Antigua and Barbuda, as the athletes make their final preparations. This summer, the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will bring together thousands of elite athletes, volunteers, and excited spectators to join an incredible festival of sport and culture.
