Congratulations to Secretary General Cliff Williams on successfully completing the Olympic Solidarity XVI Executive Masters in Sport Organizations Management (MEMOS) programme in English which ran from September 9th, 2012 to September 14th, 2013.

The MEMOS programme seeks to assist sport professionals working within international sporting organizations to develop the skills and knowledge to be able to manage and operate their National Olympic Committees at a higher capacity.

Mr. Williams attended the following teaching sessions:

  • Session 1 – Lausanne, Switzerland
    • Module 1 – Strategic Management and Governance
    • Module 2 – Project and Event Management
  • Session 2 – Hanoi, Vietnam
    • Module 3 – Marketing Management
    • Module 4 – Financial Management
  • Session 3 – Zagreb, Croatia
    • Module 5 – Human Resources Management
    • Module 6 – Communication and Social Media Management
  • Session 4 – Lausanne, Switzerland
    • Project Presentation and Defense

In addition to attending the sessions, candidates had to complete a research project relating directly to their working environment within a 10 month period from September 2012 to July 2013.

Secretary General Williams research project was on ‘Governance Reform of the Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee: Improvement of Image’. This project was undertaken to improve the image and optimize service deliveries to stakeholders of the ABOA. During the week of September 8th to 15th, 2013, Mr. Williams publicly presented and defended his project to a jury comprised of the representatives of the participating institutions, completing the final component of the program.
